Black Page Turns is looking for a group of people to come down to the studio, DOJO Studios (next to DMU Student Union)
and help record a group vocal track for the next online-only single “Superhero Save Me”.
Don’t be shy as there’ll be others there on the day and no previous experience will be necessary for rock stars, guitar heroes and x factors alike! We can all hit the town after for beers at Polar Bear/Graduate nearby.
The track (and lyrics) will be emailed to attendees the week before the studio session and some beers will be provided whilst the whole thing will be filmed for the website too.
So come and be part of the fun and the track will be sent to your email the following week after mixing.

Pauline returned to the world ska stage this year, after a 2 year hiatus pursuing her musical interests in jazz & soul. 2009 is the 30th anniversary of the 2-Tone movement. She kicked off this celebratory year in March by reaching out to the many thriving ska scenes in other parts of the world. This culminated in her first South American tour of Argentina and Brazil, where she performed alongside Doreen Schaffer of the legendary Skatalites as ‘The Queens Of Reggae and Ska’, Hugo Lobo’s ‘Dancing Mood’ band, Firebug & The Rudeboy Band.
In April 2009 she joined her long time friends Neville Staple (The Specials) and Ranking Roger (The Beat) for the highly successful ‘Stars Of Ska’ tour of Dubai and Australia.
In June 2009 she turned her attention to Europe. She performed with Finnish ska band ‘Blastermaster’ for 2 German ska festivals, headlining in Rosslau (’This Is Ska Festival) and Mainz (Feuerwerks Festival).
After the success of her concerts in South America in March, Pauline has been invited back to perform alongside Hugo Lobo’s ‘Dancing Mood’ in Buenos Aries, Argentina on Oct 3rd 2009.
On Nov 12th Pauline unveils a slim-line three-piece band performing many songs from her new album at the Black Magic Woman Festival in the Bijlmerpark Theatre, Amsterdam.
In December Pauline will be hitting the road in the U.K with a 7 piece band including a three piece horn section, to perform new and old material. The Charlotte leicester has a confirmed date of the 4th December on this tour.
Currently she is writing her much anticipated memoirs entitled ‘a Bird’s Eye View’ for publication in 2010 to coincide with the release of a new album ‘Pigment Of My Imagination’ on Vocaphone records.
